Academic Drawing & Sculpture II 10:30am-5:00pm
February 4, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Friday, repeating until July 1, 2022
Academic drawing & sculpture I will introduce students to the Russian Academic method of conceptualizing, drafting and sculpting the human body. This method relies heavily on construction, composition, and anatomical landmarks of the idealized classicist form.
Students will be guided to see the human form through a strong clear definition of planes that integrates the weight, proportion, gesture, and likeness of the model.
This learning approach and technique gives students confidence in their decisions as they push past simple silhouettes and think three-dimensionally. They will begin to see how various anatomical planes flow together and bind a complex set of distinct anatomical structures into the totality that is harmonious composition.
Last regularly scheduled class day: June 24th, 2022
REVISED 1/6/2022 – Make-up day class added: The new last day of class will be July 1st, 2022.
