ONLINE WORKSHOP: Landscape Painting with Gilberto Geraldo

An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Tuesday, repeating until April 13, 2021
During this online workshop students will work directly with PAA Drawing and Painting Department Chair, Gilberto Geraldo, to complete a copy of the wonderful “On the Siene”, by Martin Rico y Ortega.
Rico painted this masterpiece along river Seine at Poissy in 1869 (15.25” x 25.5”, oil on canvas).
This workshop totals five, 6 hour days of study time with a living master of contemporary realism. Gilberto will provide direct feedback live on Zoom, and will discuss his approach to differentiating sky, dense foliage and the delicate nature of water.
Through analyzing warm/cool tones, subtle value shifts and understanding compositional elements used, students will leave this workshop with a concrete understanding of the transitional stages a landscape painting undergoes. This method is not only applicable to landscape copies, but to works from life as well.
